There was a lovely buzz in the studio, with all of us working on different projects, ranging from cushions to skirts to hold-all-bags.

Furoshiki is a traditional folding technique using fabrics and can be used for wrapping gifts or indeed to make accessories such as bags. Ours is made with a combination of folding, knotting and sewing and makes an excellent little pouch for carrying your essentials (keys, mobile phone, purse etc.), your lunch, or of course your crafty projects!

This knee length skirt is knocking out some sculptural shapes with its asymmetrical 'faux-pocket' pleats! We love the drape effect it creates at the front panel...
We'll be working from a commercial dress pattern and will show you how to sew in an invisible zip and hand stitch a hem-facing as well as a waistband.
The skirt has simply been nicknamed 'Batman', because of the goth fabric choice for Francine's version. The other sample has been made using Laura Ashley material and has an altogether more cheerful feel. Choice of fabric is up to you, so make it glam with some tafetta, cheery with some printed cotton or office-chic with pinstripe wool?
When booking please let us know your dress size, so we can advice you how much fabric to bring along for the session.

We particularly like the surprise element of a bright lining fabric to a plain coloured tie... although... who's to say you can't go all floral!
