Creative Open Workshops

In this session you will create a super fabulous head-piece/hairband/fascinator!

We will show you how to make fabric yo-yo's, cover your own buttons with fabrics and create a superb colour-coordinated composition!

This yo-yo fascinator will become the starting-point for any party outfit!

Join us on 10 November between 18.30 - 21.30 at our workshop in the Custard Factory!
Basic sewing skills needed only :) No sewing machine for this one !!

Next up is our Textiles Course, starting next Tuesday 10th November!

Each session costs £15; includes all materials & equipment + drinks & cakes!

However, if you book all 6 workshops, you get one free!!
(So book for 6, pay for 5 ;)

Sessions run from 6.30 - 9.30, instead of the standard 2hours, as we tend to overrun ;)
(However, feel free to come at our usual time of 7pm if you can't quite make it for 6.30pm)

Hello Crafty People!

After some much needed time off & delivering the odd Half Term workshop for children, we are now back with our workshop programme to start for November!

We're very happy to announce the first batch of Paper Craft sessions, led by scrap booking expert Lisa Olson.

16^th November  CD Holder

23^rd November Rustic Photos Frame

30^th November Quick & Simple Christmas Cards

7^th December Boxed any Occasion Cards

13^th December Decorative Christmas Card Holder

All sessions will run from 6.30 - 8.30pm and cost £15 each, with the exception of Sunday 13th December, which is a special 4hour session, costs £30 and will take place in the afternoon (exact time t.b.c.)

Those of you who are interested in following the entire course, can make use of our special discount, which entitles you to 1 session free! Paying £75, instead of £90 :)

The Decorative Christmas Card Holder session is £25, if booked with another of our workshops *

*= these can be any of our workshops; textiles, crochet, jewellery and felt-making!

Please find below the content of the first session:

CD Holder

With the onset of the Digital age most of us are now going digital with our photos and scrap pages so why not come and join in the fun as we make this specially designed CD holder. This CD holder will hold a standard sized CD/DVD (without plastic case)to preserve those special digital Images/digital scrap pages of your loved ones (CD NOT INCLUDED).

You can choose to bring the CD/DVD with you or you may choose to add it later when the holder is completed, this way you can match your CD label with your holder.  The CD/DVD doesn’t have to be pictures, it could be a DVD with real life footage of your loved ones.

This is a class for all abilities and all materials and tools are provided.

Hello Everyone!

Despite our best efforts we have been unable to secure enough bookings to run our Ceramic Decorations Workshop this afternoon.
We're very sorry to have to cancel for those of you who did book a place!

Of course we're very happy to receive workshops requests if you would like this particular session to take place on another date...

For adults: Our workshops programme will be made availble on this blog soon & ceramics weekend sessions will be included, so watch this space! ;)

Celebrated West Midlands Ceramicist Jo Davis will be leading our Ceramic Decorations Workshop this coming Sunday 1 November, 2 - 4 pm.
Jo's work is inspired by her travels in South East Asia and most notably Thailand. Her ceramic vessels bear elegant and ornamental patterns inspired by majestic pagodas and ancient temples.

Jo will bring along a collection of forms for participants to work with and a range of underglazes and coloured slips. She will show us how to use glazes, slips and transfer papers to decorate the ceramic forms.  Items will be ready to collect from our shop, after they have been fired in a kiln! :)

We still need 3 people to join us on Sunday in order for the workshop to go ahead!! :)

Adults are welcome too; providing you bring a child between the ages of 6 -12 years old! ;)

You can choose from a wide range of fun interactive craft workshops that will be run from our colourful venue in the Custard Factory.  Create porcelain buttons; finger crochet jelly fish; star shaped booklets; ceramic decorations; matisse colour monsters; cuddly softies; felt bug pins.  Choose whether to do a morning or afternoon workshop (both sessions will cover the same material). 

Workshops are suitable for children aged 6 to 12. Our workshops aim to develop creative skills in a fun and enjoyable environment. We also encourage parents / carers to stay and participate.  No need to worry about cleaning up afterwards!!
